“There is a waterfall in every dream. Cool and crystal clear, it falls gently on the sleeper, cleansing the mind and soothing the soul.” ― Virginia Alison
Lombok island ain’t all about beautiful white sandy beaches and the gili islands, it is also a home to the majestic Rinjani, Indonesia’s 2nd highest volcano with the amazing Segara Anak lake on its summit. Mount Rinjani has long been favourited by many as one of the most beautiful trekking destinations in the world but not many of us know that inside the Rinjani geopark there are also hundreds of amazing waterfalls. Some of them have been widely known such as; Tiu Kelep, Sendang Gile, Gangga and Benang Setokel but most of them left unknown and we need to explore to find them.
I was on a ferry ship last night, making my way back home from Bali when a friend of mine @zlatan_rama tagged me in his Instagram photo showing a beautiful waterfall picture which captured my eyes. Batu Janggot Waterfall, Batukliang Utara, Lombok Tengah.
It takes about one hour an half drive from Lembar harbour in Lombok to reach this gorgeous waterfall. Compared to other waterfalls nearby, access to this place is relatively easier. It’s only about 15 minutes drive from the Main road at Desa Stiling near the popular Aiq Bukaq waterpark. You don’t even need to hike since you can park right near the waterfall.
I have been to many beautiful waterfalls in Lombok but there is something quite hypnotizing about Batu janggot waterfall. Can’t really tell much but these pictures do;
Getting there: Mataram – Pancordao – Aik Bukak Waterpark – Stiling village – Pemotoh – Batu Janggot waterfall
Popular place nearby: 30 minutes drive from Aik Bukaq waterpark
