During the Hindu Pujawali ceremony, enjoy gathering with the locals for Perang Ketupat ritual. It’s a war between the two religions (Islam & Hindu). It’s totally a different kind of war than we normally see on TV or read in the history book where people hurt each others. Perang Ketupat is more about a celebration of peace, love, togetherness and tolerance. All the participants will be nicely dressed in traditional outfits and when the horn is blown by the priest, they will start throwing each others with Ketupat (a sort of woven coconut leaf). Again, it’s not to hurt each others, but to share some laughters and fun. This probably is the only fun war in the world.

This religious event is held annually at Pura Lingsar, Narmada.
Be ready to see huge crowds where thousands of people dressed up in the wonderful Lombok and Balinese traditional outfits.
